Chimney Cleaning +++

Two men cleaning the chimney we never use I just put on a burning fireplace on YouTube on the big TV it sits right up against the front of the fireplace opening. I do this  for holidays and you’d swear it was warming up the room and it’s nice to hear it crackle. They say the chimney shaft is full of spiders and leaves and stuff from birds even though I have a screen on the top. We   don’t burn any wood in it ever… that’s been the case in the two years we’ve been in this house. But we’re complying with the condominium rules to have it checked and cleaned every couple of years. While waiting listening to Bruce Springsteen and covers of his songs as well. He’s been such a major part of my adult life… a soundtrack of sorts. By the way, I love to hear him in interviews too, and his Broadway show was a knockout. Thankful that I saw him one time back at the Fillmore in San Francisco in the 70s before he became gigantic. I remember how long and energetic that concert was. Sorry I’ve not seen him since and amazed that even at his age he’s still touring all over the world. As is his idol, Bob Dylan. I’m inspired by those guys and am working on poetry as always, but also starting the clock on the February 15th departure date for what will be a rectangle tour around the country, doing that, I guess, so no one calls me a square…  could we have a rimshot, please. Making lists of things I will need to take… planning for all contingencies as best as possible, and a list of places  and routes I may want to go over the course of a month and a half. Tentative return date to the house pulling up in front of the house on March 31st.  Over the course of that I will be visiting a few people, but I don’t have many to visit …such as the life of an introvert.  Not wanting to stay anywhere too long I won’t be hitting museums except for the Ernest Hemingway House / museum on the point of the Florida Keys. Wanting to see and take photographs of points of interest all along the way. Buying a voice recorder so I can record as I drive …poems, thoughts, and end up with a travelog with lots of graphical evidence and proof of life as we go. One of the things I’ll be doing before the departure is having the car checked over… it’s a 2021 Honda CRV hybrid with just 17,000 miles on it, probably 18 by the time I leave, it’s a lease that will end up in April of 24, so one of the purposes of doing this trip by driving is to add some miles to the vehicle… because after all I HAVE paid for them every month for nearly 3 years. I will feel fairly confident about being in a newer vehicle and it will be a lot smoother experience, God willing, than back when I used to hitchhike all over. Those were the days.Going to Seattle this coming Saturday to have a vegan Thanksgiving feast with daughter and son-in-law. We couldn’t do it on Thanksgiving because they were back with his family in another part of the country so we’re looking forward to that coming together.  Hoping there are many more such occasions still. Sorry my entire retirement has been with the tension, frustration, outright anger, and disbelief caused by living with the stench and under the shadow of Trump and his Rethuglican enablers. It is a glorious country which they all want to ruin. That’s been a burden and an exhausting struggle all these years, but I remain optimistic, knowing there are millions of other decent resisters out there giving these hateful morons hell. Which is all they deserve. May Justice triumph in the four ongoing trials, and in more that will probably come, and may America see the light.
