DAY ONE

NOTE — SEVERAL OF THESE ENTRIES RECENTLY POSTED ON THIS BLOG HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED (RATHER TEDIOUSLY I MIGHT ADD) FROM ANOTHER DIARY APP — HENCE THE FACT THAT THEY ARE FROM A YEAR OR SO AGO — DIDN’T WANT THEM TO DISAPPEAR, HOWEVER, WHEN I STOPPED USING THAT APP (FOR A FEW REASONS) …SO DECIDED TO MOVE THEM OVER…IN ORDER TO HAVE EVERYTHING FOR POSTERITY IN ONE COZY LITTLE PLACE. THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED INTEREST. I WILL BE POSTING NEW THINGS AS SOON AS I’M DONE WITH ALLTHE TRANSFERS.

First day trying to use this Diary Book app and it’s a little confusing to learn despite their promises of how easy it is. Looking for a way to journal something quickly and ‘painlessly’…efficiently…every day by typing in or dictating to my phone wherever I am. It’s going to include pieces of poetry, photos, impressions, brainstorms, things I see, deep and shallow thoughts, yucks, snatches of overheard conversation, anecdotes, art, plans, purchases, politics, images …
We are in our new house sitting here in the cold because two windows are open because Isabel’s sister has come to visit and they’re talking at the dining room table with masks on, the windows open to give a bit more protection from the new version of the coronavirus the omicron. Lots of fresh air is supposed to help keep the virus quantity down which is important. It’s good that these siblings different as they are  can get together occasionally to catch up on gossip and we’ve all been vaccinated including the booster shot and I’m taking Juana today to get her booster shot and then we will all be fully covered until they come up with something new.
Both households are in Kent where we’ve just moved 10 minutes or so from our old apt in Renton and where Juana has lived since moving here over 2 years ago. Isabel asked me today, “I wonder how much longer we’re going to be in this mode of having to pretty much lock down” and that’s what we do unlike a lot of people who have to go to work and go out in stores and everything we just pretty much stay home. Because we are both what they call ‘high risk’ for serious illness if we were to become infected, although the vaccinations are supposed to protect us from death or serious illness. But we don’t want to get sick AT ALL especially with all the variables of the long-term effects even with mild cases initially.

Old doggy, Wookie, 15 years plus lying by my side snoring away, content and it’s true it is a calming influence if your dog or cat is behaving themselves and if not driving you crazy with something  they help keep you calm.
